Most people probably don't notice the day they stop having to work through something hard. AI takes it over, and with it goes the small daily proof that you were good at your job. You don't feel the loss in the moment. You feel it months later, when a real judgment call shows up and the instinct you used to trust isn't there anymore. That's the regret of omission this piece is describing, except most people won't know what they failed to keep practicing until they need it.
