Hi Rishad - I wonder how you value or evaluate the benefits (or lack thereof) of a university degree within this context? One could argue that "learning" on the job/in a role/exploring a certain territory in this context might be more relevant than obtaining a degree. What are your thoughts?
Loved this one, Rishad. It sparked a convo, and ultimately a new approach, amongst our mgmt team on how to communicate the work we're doing to support career growth. I'm looking for an opportunity for you to come speak to us on this topic.
Totally agree with all of this Rishad - this is basically the premise of my new coaching business for women in their 30's and 40's - that orgs are increasingly not supporting peoples career development and if they are not executives (who typically get alot of coaching/leadership support) - where do people go to review their progress, get clear on what their USP is and figure out how to become more like an 'agent of one' - thank you for all your thinking is so helpful
Hello Rishad. I have followed you for years - initially on LI - because you seem to completely “get” workplace culture and how we - and the workplace - need to adapt. I wonder if you have ever addressed the growing voices of women in post partum, menopause, or simply in the phase of pausing career growth to make raising their family a priority. Read The Invisible Shift on Substack or https://www.womens-health-concern.org/help-and-advice/menopause-in-the-workplace/ or https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37115119/. Will work ever accommodate the unique challenges women face?
Great Read Rishad. I picked up a new book recently called Indepedence Day by Steve Lopez, a longtime journalist of LA Times. So far so good. So many ways to approach the "back nine",

Agree. Learning is the key. What we know decays fast.

Suzanne. Thanks. Hopefully you can make it happen.
Rishad, this has been a wonderful five years of being able to benefit from your unique blend of wisdom, pragmatism, vision and creativity.
Thank you for your generosity. I am so looking forward to this retrospective.

Have not. Will read.
I absolutely love every word of this. Thank you.
