I always thought that the ability to learn is seriously underestimated in our world. Everyone learns something—their degree, job—but not everyone understand exactly how they learn as a process.
I believe that the dread some people feel around AI stems from their lack of confidence in learning something new, not necessarily an entirely new job but new skills to complement their current role.
Beautifully written and introspective, like ALL of Rishad's writings. The art created via GPT-4 goes perfectly with this post...I'm curious to know what were the prompts used to generate these?
As Rishad has eloquently stated, AI will be our close partner in many tasks but "Empathy and looking for the unsaid and unexpressed is what the machines cannot do." And empathy with strong, genuine relationships help us find more effective solutions to complex challenges.
Thank you, Sir for reinforcing our learning and motivation on these Six C’s ( Cognition, Curiosity, Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, Convincing). Along with these, we must have empathy and look for the unsaid and unexpressed (what the machines cannot do).
Thank you, Rishad—very timely article. My feed on Linkedin reads like a creative bloodbath, and still I am a believer that skills and experience hold value and are critical. Making that value visible is key for the transformation of the 'creative sector,' and the 6 Cs convey that. It takes courage on both sides: creatives and clients.
I’m a big fan of Rishad’s podcast.
Great insights from great guests.
I do struggle with “we need to hone and build and train for three other skills which are collaboration, communication and convincing.”
I realize he likes to use easy to remember acronyms.
Makes sense.
I do not like the word “convincing”
People don’t want to be convinced.
I know my wife doesn’t:)
I like the word “influence” better.
People are best convinced by reason’s they themselves discover.
Influence is the process of facilitating people discovering for themselves.
And Rishad is very good at influencing me!
Are the first three characters, "con", off putting?
“Humans are stories. Stories are data with a soul.” - this is nugget.
Never make a point without a story, never tell a story without a point.
Love the ‘company of one’ language Rishad

Love the AI images - any chance you could share the prompts in the alt text?
I too am curious about the prompts used but does GPT-4 retain prompts (for the subscriber) once an image is generated?
