In 1992 we released the first video all created on a Mac utilizing the first editing solution provided on the platform - Video FX. It was the advent of amazing change and liberation for storytellers that chose film. The entire set up cost $200k. You couldn’t digitize the video yet. We purchased 1GB drives for our Mac Quadra’s at $7k. Video playback and recording were done on Betacam SP decks that cost $70k. Today you can create way better films with an iPhone and Instagram’s video editor - in beautiful HD. What’s needed now are storytellers of Ria’s caliber utilizing these tools. Grateful for her and those like her. It been a pleasure to have partially watched her journey. Kudos to all of you. She’s putting out some fine work.

I loved this. No one could blame you for using this platform to promote your amazing daughter's work but, leave it to Rishad to weave in excellent insights for creative talent in the digital/AI world. --- Still, I loved this most for the love between a father and a daughter which strikes very close to home for me.

Ria was a student in three of my UCLA Extension Writers' Program TV pilot courses; she was not only a hard worker and a delightful person but also an AWESOME TALENT for whom I predicted Many Good Things. I see now whence she inherited some of her wonderfully quirky outlook -- her AWESOME PARENTS! Thank you for being so incredibly supportive -- of her AND of our crazy and wonderful industry.

I read every single one of your remarkable newsletters, but since we both have daughters in the film industry, this one hit me more emotionally than the others. I haven't had the luck of being a film star like you yet, but I hear a lot about the challenges she's facing and opportunities she's having thru new tech tools (writing and creating AI voiceovers is her latest new skill). Ria's work is gorgeous and moving. Congratulations to her - and to you!

Dear Rishad, my compliments to your daughter Ria. I looked at the trailers, absolutely riveting. A proud father you are, preparing coffee for your lovely daughter while she was figuring out the next take.

Warm regards, Alex.
